Diploma in Teaching Internationally

This is a 7 unit programme, which award a Diploma to the learner. This programme is suitable for Teachers at all level. The Diploma is awarded by SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority), Scotland’s National Awarding and Accrediting body. The Diploma programme can be completed over a period of 3 years from the date of enrolment. The learner will receive unit wise certification (SQC), i.e. as soon as a learner completes a unit. To achieve the Diploma a learner needs to complete the following 7 mandatory units given below:

3. EL-TT-03 Developing innovative teaching methods
    • Understand the benefits of innovative teaching methods
    • Use innovative methods of teaching to enhance learning  Evaluate the effectiveness of using innovative methods in learning programmes
4. EL-TT-04 Using ICT to facilitate learning
    • Explore the range of ICT materials that are available to support learning
    • Select appropriate online learning materials for delivering learning programmes
    • Use online learning material to deliver learning session
5. EL-TT-05 Measuring learning progress and achievement
    • Understand the principles, role, methods and types of assessment
    • Plan and conduct assessment to measure learning progress and achievement
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of the assessment conducted
6. EL-TT-06 Maintaining professional skills and knowledge
    • Identify the need to maintain and update own knowledge, skills and teaching practices
    • Plan for activities to update own knowledge, skills and teaching practice
    • Carry out activities to update own knowledge, skills and teaching practice
7. EL-TT-07 Educating for behavioural change
    • Understand the theories of behavioral change
    • Identify methods to increase student achievement
    • Evaluate the implementation of a plan for behavioral change in a selected learner or learner group
